Sam Lake

Sam Lake, originally from Cornwall, is a London based Stand-Up Comedian. Sam openly shares stories and details from his life as a semi-camp gay man, moving from a small mining village to a big city and gearing up to become a happily married man.

Sam has been performing comedy for 4 years, and has a racked up a number of achievements. In 2016, Sam won South Coast Comedian of the Year and had a sell out-show at the Edinburgh Fringe, “Joking Hazard”.

In 2017, Sam was nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award. He also returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with two shows. “The Daddy and Beeje Chat Show”, a comedy play about a dysfunctional TV presenting duo, “Queens”, a split-bill stand-up showcase with Tash Goldstone.

In 2018, Sam won Leicester Square Theatre’s New Comedian of the Year competition and the Hastings Fringe Newcomer of the Year. Sam was featured in a campaign by LADBible, promoting International Coming Out Day. During the Edinburgh Fringe, Sam worked alongside Beth Vyse, writing for her show “Olive Hands: The Hand that Rocked the Cradle”. The show received 4 and 5 star reviews, and was listed in the Edinburgh Evening News’s “The 40 Best Jokes from the Edinburgh Fringe”.
