More InfoMr Dan Evans is headliner for this evening, mixing his silly fun jokes with a comedic intelligence that makes him one of the most respected comedians amongst other comedians, as well as with our crowds.
Our opening act is one of the best comedians in the country, Paul Thorne. Some of you may have seen him as the ruthless MC at The Comedy Store’s King Gong show where he shows little or no mercy. A lesser known fact about Paul is that the main character in bestselling crime fiction author Mark Billingham’s series is named Thorne after Paul himself. Anyway, a class act and well worth the ticket price alone.
Our host is the guitar-toting Andy Stedman, who earlier this year supported legend Bobby Davro on his theatre tour. Funnily enough, Stedman also has a character named after him in Mark Billingham’s most recent book, a fire inspector called Stedman. You can feel extra safe tonight that the MC will know where the fire exits are.
Simon Caine is making his long-awaited debut at The Stand-Up Club, and we are looking forward to it. Simon hosts one of the most popular comedy podcasts, the “Ask The Industry Podcast” which most if not all comedians have listened to or if they’re important enough, been on. He also gigs extensively around the UK on indie-style tours, which we love the sound of.
As well as these fine acts, we will as always be showcasing a newer act. Tonight it is hilarious Bulgarian comedian Martin Durchov.
THE VENUE
The Comedy Pub is smack bang in the heart of London’s West End, 1-2 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus tube. With 4 floors, it boasts a brand new cocktail bar and three other bars to quench your thirst. The comedy room holds 100 people, enough for a sizzling atmosphere but not too many that you can’t get close (not too close!) to the comedians. We allocate seats for everyone, so you just have to turn up and enjoy the night.
TICKETS/MEALS
You don’t need to print out your ticket, just bring the email along on your phone. We have a list of ticket-holders as well should all else fail .You can purchase a pre-show meal which guarantees you a reserved table if you so wish, and there are other food/drink options also available.
FREE ENTRY TO AFTER-SHOW COCKTAIL BAR
Sip cocktails in the swanky new cocktail bar in the basement after the show, which has a DJ and is open until 2am. Why bother going to queue up elsewhere…
