“Rising star ” (BBC Scotland ) Amanda Hursy has an original voice that is said to be a one off .
In her first couple of years , she has sparked interest across the industry : performing across UK clubs and festivals, with her written work already published ( British Comedy Guide ) and selected for bbc radio broadcasting ( Breaking the News )
Arena tour support for Gary Faulds ,performing at the iconic SEC Armadillo ( 2022 ) and was selected as warm up act for an audience with Karen Dunbar ( 2023 ).
Amanda was also invited to headline the prestigious stand comedy clubs new act night in her home city of Glasgow and went on to have a SOLD OUT debut show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival ( 2024 )
Amanda has also been featured on bbc Scotlands ‘off the ball ‘ radio show and had her stand up featured on bbc Scotlands TV , the NINE show.
Amanda continues to delight audiences, and her first solo show ‘ A LA CARTED ‘ received recognition at the Leicester comedy festival where she received an award in the ‘ Best performance ‘ category for her work in progress show , ahead of many polished projects from her peers.
Amanda has performed in most places ,including the Scottish prison service, as was part of the Wholesome Prison Blues collective.
Amanda also headlines the ‘ giggles fae glesga ‘ all female tour show which also recieved recognition as TOP pick recommended show at the Manchester women in comedy Festival ( 2023/2024 ).
This astute creative has also been selected for the Edinburgh fringe Festivals award winning show’ Best in class ‘ showcase ( 2024 ) and recieved a notsble 4 stsr review from the Scotsman and is said to be ” one of the best rising stars in Scottish comedy ” ( Daily Record ).
