Bennet started writing and performing sketch comedy whilst at university in Leeds. Since then he has concentrated on developing his surreal brand of musical comedy – with his mutated portable Yamaha keyboard – to address such important hard-hitting issues as cats, colour blindness and bus drivers. You know, the big hitters…
He has performed at several Edinburgh Fringe festivals and at clubs across the country including Up the Creek, Leicester Square Theatre and the London Comedy Store – supporting acts such as Phil Wang and Zoe Lyons. He has been in numerous stand-up finals and this year he was shortlisted for the BAFTA Rocliffe TV Comedy writing initiative for a sitcom he co-wrote.
He was once so awkward he apologised for buying a pint, he’s not sure if he likes tomatoes and he’s uncomfortable writing in third-person.
