Former Butlins Redcoat Suzy Bennett ‘accidentally’ won the Funny Women Awards on her 6th gig ( her first gig was in the final of ‘Jimmy Carr’s Comedy Idol) and has since been impressing audiences around the country and overseas with her warm, chatty style and hilarious stories.
As a compere, she has hosted many big charity vents such as the Moonwalk and Race for Life where warmed up the crowds and introduced and interviewed stars such as Jennifer Saunders, Jo Brand and Paul O Grady. During these events she likes to join in with the competitors and makes her own funny costumes for the occasions.
She was chosen as tour support act for Russell Kane on his ‘Smallness’ shows and ‘Russell Kane and Friends’ showcases where he described her as a ‘Charm Bomb’.
Always up for a challenge, Suzy appeared on the Channel 4 series ‘The Diets That Time Forgot’ as a Victorian in a corset and a giant crinoline skirt!
During the summer Suzy enjoys the buzz of Festival shows and in 2018 appeared at Boardmasters, Leopallooza andLittle Orchard in Cornwall. In 2019 she makes her debut with a family show touring Park Dean resorts.
Suzy is a proud Devonian and was thrilled to be included in the Evening Herald’s ‘Coolest Plymouth Women’ List and often pops in to BBC Radio Devon for a chat.
